Local Cartoonist Molly Hahn To Have Signing For Children's Book Inspired By Santa Barbara Fires

Local Cartoonist Molly Hahn, aka "Mollycules", is scheduled to have a signing for her first children's book, Under the Sneep Tree: The Wamboozling of a Village, on Sunday, November 15th at Yoga Soup from 12pm-3pm. Live music, art activities, and refreshments will be provided. Molly will conduct readings throughout the event.

The book is about a communit
y of monsters called Wamboozles whose village experiences a terrible fire. During the disaster the natural habitat is destroyed including the Sneep Trees, which bear a fruit essential for their survival. When a small group of Wamboozles set out to search for food, one accidentally wanders into a town where he is discovered by young Percy. Initially they are scared of one another, but eventually learn that their differences are harmless. Over time they learn about each other’s culture, history, and create a timeless bond. The book is appropriate for children ages 5-8.

Under the Sneep Tree: The Wamboozling of A Village made it's premiere at the San Diego Comic Con in July, w
here the book sold out before the convention’s end. The book has received consistently positive reviews from readers; one parent expressed that his 4 year old daughter asked for this to be read repeatedly to here each night. Another fan noted, “I have read your book several times, each time I find myself smiling, both for meeting your adorable characteers and their story, as well as the important message in your book. What could be more wonderful than that?”

The book signing will be the first "homecoming" event for Molly as she continues to tour conventions and is eager to share the story with her community, "I was moved to create this in response to the fires we have experienced over the last two years and how we transformed
as a community."

Molly is giving Santa Barbara locals the opportunity to pre-order the book and pick it up at the book signing on her website at http://www.mollycules.com/reservations.

Yoga Soup is located at 28 Parke
r Way, Santa Barbara, CA 93101-3439

I hope that this message finds you well! 2009 has been a very exciting year for the cartooning land of Mollycules! I'm currently preparing to exhibit two new books at the Alternative Press Expo in San Fransisco October 17-18. I will be at Table 420. APE is held at the Concourse Exhibition Center at 620 7th Street.

This July I completed my first children's book, Under the Sneep Tree: The Wamboozling of a Village, and premiered it at the San Diego Comic Con. I had a table in the Artists Alley again and sold out of all my copies before the show even ended!
